Summer is close, and of course we are hoping for lots of warm sunny days in Dublin. Unfortunately, this is not always the case in Ireland, so thinking of some nice indoor activities to keep yourself busy might be a good thing to do. What about attending a play in one of Dublin’s theatres? At The Green we picked out our favourites.

The Last Ship – Bord Gáis Theatre

After receiving many wonderful five-star reviews at its official opening in Newcastle’s Northern Stage, The Last Ship comes to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre as part of its first ever tour of the UK and Ireland Tour. Sting’s personal, political and passionate musical is a moving epic tale of community, hope and a great act of collective defiance. For more information and tickets, visit the website.

Ulysses – Abbey Theatre

The Abbey Theatre will be home to Ulysses. Dermot Bolger’s brilliantly adapted, vibrant version of James Joyce’s classic is promised to be a play to remember; live music, puppets, dancing, clowning, bowler hats and kazoos can be expected. Buy your tickets for Ulysses here.

Assassins – The Gate Theatre

The Gate Theatre presents the multiple Tony Award-winning “ASSASSINS”. The play tells the story about the lives of nine people who killed (or tried to kill) the president of the United States. The play consists of Sondheim’s signature blend of brilliantly stunning lyrics and magnificent music with a panoramic story. For tickets, pay a visit to the website here.

Riverdance – The Gaiety Theatre

Ireland’s biggest show Riverdance is coming home to Dublin from the 12th of June to the 9th of September. The show will be very spectacular with lots of music and dance. Since 1995 Riverdance has played 11,500 performances and been seen live by over 25 million people in over 467 venues worldwide in 47 countries across 6 continents. This one is a must-see! For tickets, have a look at the website.

The Green is surrounded by all theatres and the perfect place to come home to after a night out. Visit our Facebook to stay updated about what’s on the hotel and what’s on in Dublin.
